A documentary almanac, consisting of 5 short stories, revealing the wonderful world of Sakhalin Island and its inhabitants. The film tells human stories through the eyes of young filmmakers who visit the island for the first time. The main characters of the short stories are representatives of different professions. The documentary filmmakers lived for several days in a fishing camp remote from settlements, in the Okha region they captured the peculiarities of oil production, visited Tyuleniy Island, in Uglegorsk they met a dynasty of miners and explored the village of Due, from there the settlement of the island began.
