Lugansk tale
A film about the Luhansk militias, whose fates were traced in the most critical period of the war, which has been going on in Donbass for the fourth year now. Summer 2014, the moment of truth, the death of Russian journalists, hundreds of thousands of refugees. Lugansk is a city with a population of 700 thousand, in these tragic days no more than a thousand soldiers are defending. It will then be humanitarian convoys, Russian volunteers will come, Russia will begin to help Donbass. At the same moment, everything depended on the former collective farmers, miners, teachers, taxi drivers, who took up arms and each went their own unique military path, from Izvarino to Novosvetlovka and Debaltsevo, became militia fighters, artillerymen, commanders of platoons and regiments and some miraculously defended the city. But even among these bright heroes, the figure of Alexei Mozgovoy, the commander of the Ghost brigade, stands out especially clearly, and the fate of the legendary brigade commander is most consistently and fully spelled out by the authors. The filmmakers filmed next to their heroes, at times under fire, but in addition, they handed out cameras to the militia themselves and trained them to shoot. This film is about the Luhansk militias, about a thousand brave who wrote history, they themselves did not understand it.
